Air Travel With Nunchucks?

Just wondering if anybody might know what my limits if I want to bring my chucks with me on an airplane. Obviously they wouldn't be on my person, but chances are they would be in a carry-on bag and not a checked bag.

I want to bring my pixel chucks, which I can disconnect into separate poi sticks, so I don't see that being an issue, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I also want to bring a practice pair of chucks, which would be padded but still in the form of nunchucks. Is that okay to bring in a carry-on bag?

EDIT: I actually decided to ask on Google too, and it looks like nunchucks are only allowed in a checked bag.  But does anybody have insight as far as the pixel chucks go and any personal experience to go with anything?

  1. I would bet the pixels would be fine as carry on if separated, the only issue may be the batteries in them. I have heard lithium batteries need to be in a fire proof bag but Ive never had any problems with camera batteries and things like that being brought carry on without any fire proof bags. I think it partly just depends on who looks at your stuff and if they feel like being a jerk about things or not

  2. Depends on which type of flight, imo, because it can vary if you’re travelling inside a country, or outside. For exemple, in some European Country, like France, even in a checked bag, nunchakus are forbidden, even knife, bottles bigger than 1.5 L, etc, and even if you’re coming from another country. In south America, like Peru or Agentina, it’s not as restricted, and you can travel with in checked bag, like I did, for training ones.

For the pixel nunchucks, like Jay said, if they are separated, it’s just a pair of sticks which can be illuminated, cool! 😉
